patupaiareheJust got my Dreamwidth code today, so I'm working on setting up my journal to function reasonably well and all. Everything being so similar to LJ is gunna bug me out for a while, but it certainly has its advantages, ie I know how to use it (it took me about two months to get used to Facebook).
Given most of my friends are on LJ and not inclined to move, not being in fandom, I'm a bit out in the dark, hence my random adding flails (hey, you look interesting! *add*). But hey, I was the first of my mates to move to LJ and that worked out alright.
In terms of who I am etc, I'm Clare, from New Zealand. At the moment, I'm eight months into an AFS exchange year in Italy, which is pretty damn hardcore. I'm a feminist, I'm bisexual, I'm pretty lefty when it comes tomost everything. I'll probably be studying Pol Sci and Women's Studies at uni next year, so I'm very much interested in those fields of thought. However, I've still got a bunch to learn and if I screw up once in a while, try to bear with me and I'll do my best not to repeat the mistake.
I'm bookish, and I love talking about books, movies, music, TV (although to a lesser extent, given I never get the chance to watch TV what with 3 siblings and a stone age net connection) and writing. Every so often I might post writing up here; we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, enough rambling for now. Time to start working on getting this place prettied up!
