I'm Clare, I've been on DW just over a year, I think, and LJ two years before that. I wrote a really good blurby thing before, tried to post it and had it eaten by my internet connection, which was less than fabulous. So, uh...
I'm in my first year at university, living in a hostel with a bunch of other firsties. It's fun, but I'm looking forward to moving into my own flat next year with my friends. I'm majoring in Modern Languages (Italian, Spanish, and I think I'm supposed to take some linguistics papers at some point) and Political Science, maybe. Jury's still out. I wanted to do Gender and Women's Studies, but the uni decided to stop offering it this year, so instead I get to be the token feminist for when any of my other classes touch on feminist issues. This is a bit lame. I'm also part of the executive of our uni's Women's Group - I'm the worst treasurer ever, really, actually hopeless, but I contribute in other ways. I write for the Women's Group blog sometimes and when I do, I'll probably link it here.
I'm a lot of fun (I like to think :P). I spend a lot of my weekend evenings, and sometimes the weekday ones, going clubbing with my friends, dancing and kissing pretty people. This is probably my favourite hobby, tied with reading. Reading is probably way better for my liver. I'm bi, and mostly single, though I'm kind of seeing a guy in another city. This is very vague, and there is a lot of backstory (check out my 'boys' tag) but we're finally at a place I feel really good about, thank god.
My friends and my family are probably the most important people in my life. I love cooking (baking especially), skiing, being lazy, and reading, among other things. I read a LOT, mostly fairly fluffy YA or Paranormal/Urban Fantasy. I also like sci fi when I can find a good author, and really, there's no genre that I won't touch. I don't watch much TV, but I love: True Blood, Outrageous Fortune, Dr Who (Eleven is so cute! As is Amy! And Rory! And everyone really), and Torchwood.
That is probably enough for now, but feel free to ask questions!
