The Italian Dream
May. 7th, 2009 09:36 pmJust reading Tre Metri Sopra il Cielo (Three Metres Above the Sky) by Federico Moccia. It's like the essence of Italianness. Rewind it back about 60% and you get my life. Everyone drinks, parties, wears expensive clothes and rides motorbikes ALL NIGHT LONG. And then sleep all day.
Oh, and they have sex. Lots and lots of sex. Including sex on the beach, without even a towel between them and the sand, which must be SO uncomfortable.
But the point that it really is the Italy that foreigners don't know about, the type of Italy I spend all my time bitching about but secretly love. Everyone should learn Italian and read it. Or alternatively watch the movie, but I haven't seen that yet and can't vouch for the quality.
I tried finding it on amazon, but failed. The dvd is called Three Steps Over Heaven, though. Go and watch! Discover what Italy's *really* like.
Plus, does anyone want to teach me how to cross post to LJ? Me being stupid in the head about this kinda stuff.
